Als Keks ein geheimnisvolles Poltern auf dem Dach hört, schleichen Mia und Keks auf Zehenspitzen durch das schlafende Haus und finden die Karotten der Rentiere verschwunden und eine Weihnachtsüberraschung mit Kekss eigenem Namen darauf.

The house was still. The tree lights blinked. Stockings hung soft and low. Then—THUMP! Keks's ears shot up like little tents. Something was on the roof!

Keks pressed close and nudged Mia's hand, eyes wide and round. Mia rubbed her sleepy eyes and sat up tall. "What is it, Keks? Did you hear that too?"

Keks's nose twitched toward the ceiling. "Someone's up there," it seemed to say. Mia grabbed her tin bell tight. Together they crept to the stairs, quiet as snow.
