Daniel loved how the world ticked. He spent his days in the hills, listening to the rhythm of the wind and the stars. Tonight, a bright comet was coming, and Daniel had a plan to catch a piece of it.

The comet was fast, so the satellite had to be faster. Daniel laid out his gears on the workbench. If the gears were too big, it would be slow. If they were too small, it would spin out of control.

He chose a medium gear and clicked it into place. The satellite body was made of polished tin and springs. Daniel wiped his forehead and looked at the sky. The comet was still far away.
