Kai and the Stop, Look, Listen Walk

Ages 3–6

On the way to the park, Kai finds a lost puppy and becomes his teacher, showing the little pup exactly how to cross the street safe and sound.

Children reinforce the road-safety habit of holding hands, stopping, looking both ways and listening before crossing with an adult.

Kai skipped down the sidewalk, whistle bouncing on its cord. "To the park, to the park!" he sang, one hand tucked safe in Dad's big hand.

Behind the mailbox, something wiggled. A tiny puppy peeked out, ears flopping, tail wagging fast. "Oh!" gasped Kai. "A puppy, all alone!"

Pip bounced right toward the road, no hand to hold, no rule in his head! "Wait, Pip, wait!" called Kai, running to the curb's edge.
