Priya's Big Fair Plan

Ages 3–6

At a bright, noisy fair, Priya loses sight of Mom for a few big-feeling minutes and uses a calm plan to stay safe, get help, and find her way back.

A gentle, repeatable script for feeling lost: stop, stay put, find a helper, and say the grown-up's phone number.

The fair was loud and the fair was bright — popcorn, music, a Ferris wheel light! Priya, in her striped shirt and overalls, held Mom's hand at the striped gate. "Stay close," said Mom, "and have a great day."

Before they went in, Mom knelt down close. "If you ever can't find me, remember our plan." Priya nodded big and said the words: "Stop. Stay. Ask a helper. Say your numbers."

They watched the prize ducks bob and spin. They munched warm popcorn, kernel by kernel. Priya laughed at a clown on tall wobbly stilts!
