Hana's World Tour: Japan

Ages 5–8

When Hana visits pen pal Aiko's springtime town, she worries about doing everything just right -- until a wobbly rice ball and a shy new-friend moment teach her that curiosity matters more than being perfect.

Children learn that curiosity and gentle effort -- not perfection -- are what turn a strange new place into a place that feels like home.

"Come visit!" Aiko waves from the screen. Hana packs her blue notebook -- and a small gift, just in case. "What if I do it wrong?" she whispers. "Look closer," she tells herself, and packs her bag anyway.

"Welcome!" Aiko calls, running to meet her at the garden gate. Petals drift like pink snow. "Ohayo," she says. "Good morning!" Hana tries the word softly. Look closer, she thinks -- there is so much to see here.

High above the pond, golden fish swirl like slow fireworks. Hana leans on the bridge railing, quiet and still. "Look closer," Aiko whispers, pointing. A fish flashes gold, and Hana finally smiles.
