Theo Meets the New Baby
Ages 2–6
When the new baby fills the house with tiny cries and big attention, Theo (wearing his soft mustard-yellow sweater with a star patch and dark green corduroy pants) wonders where he fits — until he discovers the special big-sibling jobs that only he can do.
Reassures a new big sibling that they have a special, irreplaceable role in the family, easing jealousy with gentle pride instead.

The new baby came home tiny and pink, wrapped up snug as a bug in a blanket. The baby cried a big cry — WAAAH! — and everybody rushed in close. Theo, in his mustard-yellow sweater with the star patch, stood back, wondering where he fit. 'Tiny baby, BIG job for Theo!' he whispered to himself.
Everyone said, 'Shh, the baby's sleeping!' Everyone said, 'Look how tiny those toes are!' Theo glanced at his own feet, then lifted his chin toward the window. His toes weren't tiny anymore. He wondered what a big kid was even for.
The baby cried again — WAAAH! WAAAHHH!! — louder than a firetruck! Grown-ups bounced and patted and sang little songs. Theo covered his ears and giggled. This baby was VERY loud for someone so small.
