Yuki and the Snow Family

Ages 2–8

When the first snow falls, Yuki can't wait to build a family of her own out in the yard, feed the shy winter birds, and warm up with cocoa and everyone she loves.

Winter joy comes from small rituals shared with family, friends, and the birds outside your window, not from any one holiday.

Snow! Snow! Soft and slow, falling white on everything below. Yuki pressed a mitten to the frosty window. "I'm going to build a family of my own out there," she grinned.

Bundled up snug — hat, scarf, and coat — Yuki stomped outside with a crunch, crunch, crunch! A tiny chirp rang out. "Hello!" she called up to a small round bird.

First, a big round belly, packed and patted smooth. But the snow kept slumping — plop! "Pack it tighter," Yuki whispered, trying again, again, again.
