Isla's Big Graduation Day
Ages 4–6
On the last day of kindergarten, Isla remembers a whole year of firsts, wobbles through a case of stage-day jitters, and walks tall across the stage in a paper cap to become a real kindergarten graduate.
A gentle sense of pride in how much she has grown, earned by pushing through a small scare, and a happy flutter of excitement for the big-kid school still to come.

Last day of school! Isla bounced out of bed, heart thumping like a drum. Today was the day. The BIG day. Cap day! Stage day! Growing-up day!
She stopped at the art wall, covered top to bottom with paintings. There it was — her very first one. A wobbly purple sun with too many rays. She remembered how proud she felt.
Blub, blub! Pip the goldfish swam in circles, same as always. "You watched me learn my letters, Pip," said Isla. "You watched me learn to share."
