Hiro's Velvet Paws

Ages 3–5

When Hiro's wild, wonderful energy sends the family cat scurrying under the couch, Papa Theo teaches him the secret of Velvet Paws — soft hands, slow moves, and a whisper-quiet voice that turns a scaredy-cat into a best friend.

Children learn to notice their own big energy and gently dial it down with slow breath, soft hands, and a quiet voice so smaller creatures and friends feel safe.

Hiro loved to gallop, tumble, and ROAR! Big stomps down the hallway, arms out like a plane. Whisper the cat watched from the windowsill, tail twitching.

"Come play, Whisper!" Hiro cried, and pounced like a thundering bear cub. Whisper's ears went flat. FWOOSH! Under the couch Whisper zoomed, just a gray blur and a swish of tail.

Hiro peeked under the couch. Two green eyes blinked back, small and scared. "Oh no," he whispered.
