"Omar and the Blue Truck's Big Fix"

Ages 3–5

"When Omar's beloved blue toy truck loses a wheel in one terrible snap, a flood of tears and fury rushes in — but with Mama's steady hands and a little patience, he discovers that broken things, and broken feelings, can both be gently mended."

"Children learn that big feelings like sadness and anger are okay to feel, and that asking for help, breathing slow, and gentle teamwork can mend both broken toys and broken hearts."

Omar, in his soft red-striped overall shirt, zoomed the little blue truck across the rug — vroom, vroom, over hills of pillows! It was his favorite thing in the whole wide world. Buddy the bluebird chirped along from the windowsill.

Then — SNAP! A wheel popped off and rolled under the couch. Omar froze. His chest went tight and hot, like a balloon about to burst. "No, no, NO!" he cried, and hot tears came fast.

He threw his arms up and stomped, stomping like heavy raindrops in tiny shoes! This was the mad, mad feeling. Buddy flew down close, chirping soft and low, as if to say: it's okay to feel this big.
