Malik and the Words That Mend a Heart
Ages 3–5
When Malik snaps an unkind word at a friend, a heavy lump grows in his throat until he finds the courage to look her in the eyes and say the words that heal.
Children learn that a sincere, eye-to-eye apology — not stubborn silence — is what truly repairs a friendship.

Under the apple tree, Malik and Mira drew all afternoon. Pip the bird hopped close to watch, tilting his little gray head at every swirl of color.
Then—bump! Malik's elbow knocked the jar. Pencils rolled, and a smear of blue swiped right across Mira's best drawing of a whale.
"You RUINED it!" Malik shouted, hot and loud. Mira's chin dropped. Pip froze mid-chirp on the fence.
