Theo and the Grumpy Growly Beast

Ages 3–5

When Theo feels grumpy, stubborn, and totally done with coats, a funny little Grump Monster wakes up inside him — and only Theo can figure out what he really needs to tame it.

Children learn to notice the body clues behind big feelings — Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired — and try a simple calming step before the grump takes over.

Theo woke up grumpy, growly, and GROUCHY. Not one bit of him wanted that puffy mustard-yellow coat. "NO COAT!" he shouted, stomping his small red sneakers on the floor.

Grrrr! Something growly stirred inside him. It stomped. It grumbled. It did NOT want to say please. "I bet that's a Grump Monster," Theo huffed, "waking up in me!"

Theo slid his hand into fuzzy Grumbo. "GROWWWL," said Grumbo, two round eyes and small blunt horns fierce. "I am too grumpy for coats, thank you very much!" said Theo, growling right along.
