Sami's Pocketful of Smiles

Ages 3–5

On the walk to school, Sami plays a secret game: tuck a smile into a little pocket and give it away to everyone he meets, watching in wonder as one smile turns into many.

Children learn that a genuine smile is a small, powerful gift that spreads warmth and connection through a whole community.

Sami tucked a brand-new smile deep into the yellow mitten's pocket. "Today," he whispered, holding tight to a warm, steady hand, "I'm going to give my smiles away!"

Down the sidewalk they went, swinging hands, one-two, one-two. Crunchy leaves said hello under his yellow boots. "Smile hunt, smile hunt, here we go!" sang Sami.

At the corner stood the big yellow bus, and Mr. Otis behind the wheel, looking tired as toast. Sami pressed close and beamed the brightest beam he had.
