Sami and the Piece That Wouldn't Fit

Ages 3–5

When a stubborn puzzle piece and a missing red crayon both refuse to cooperate, Sami learns to pause, breathe, and try a brand-new way to make things fit.

Children learn that pausing to breathe and trying a new way turns frustration into a satisfying, creative win.

On the round fuzzy rug, Sami built a puzzle so grand, with curvy wooden pieces spread wide across the land. One piece stuck out, shaped like a leaf. He grinned and grabbed it, sure it would be brief.

He jammed it here, he jammed it there, but the leaf piece would not go anywhere! His cheeks turned warm, like a berry so red. "It HAS to fit!" is all he said.

Bibi gave a nudge with his soft lavender nose. "Boop!" he seemed to say, calm and slow: when things won't budge and your face feels hot, stepping back helps more than a lot.
