Ages 3–5
Kofi bakes one giant star-shaped cookie hoping to keep it all, but discovers -- one broken piece at a time -- that "cookie for you" tastes sweeter than "cookie for me."
Children learn that generosity and sharing -- baking with a helping hand, then giving pieces away -- bring more warmth and connection than keeping good things all to themselves; the neighbor-safety concern is resolved by keeping every sharing moment among known playground friends and with an adult's

Kofi tied the strings of his butter-yellow apron over his shirt and overalls, and grinned. "Today," he said, "I will bake the BIGGEST cookie the whole street has ever seen! One to share and share!" Flour dust floated like tiny clouds.
