Kai's River Raft Adventure
Ages 3–5
Kai tests a tiny wooden raft in a shallow, sunny stream and discovers how fast water races and slow water spins, then patiently uses a long-handled net to save a little paper boat from a swirling eddy, feet safely on the bank the whole time.
A gentle, hands-on introduction to how water moves and why patience pays off, taught safely with a grown-up close by.

Kai loved one thing best: floating a little raft on the stream behind Gran's garden. Today he packed it in his satchel and skipped down the sandy path, boots squeaking with excitement.
"Look, Gran!" said Kai, kneeling on the grassy bank. "The water is moving so fast!" Gran sat beside him on the mossy log. "That's called the current, little one."
Kai set the wooden raft on the water. Whoosh! It zipped away down the middle of the stream. "It's racing!" he laughed, clapping his hands together with glee.
