Jayden's Patient Garden

Ages 3–5

Jayden plants a small acorn in the garden and, with a cheerful ladybug friend named Pip, waits through the quiet winter for the very first green leaf of spring.

Children learn that patience and gentle daily care help both plants and friendships grow.

Autumn wind swirled gold and red. Jayden found one small brown acorn, smooth and round, hiding under the old oak tree. He closed his eyes and wished, "Grow, little acorn, grow."

A little ladybug dropped onto his sleeve. "Hello! I'm Pip!" he chirped. "Tiny seed, tiny seed, will you grow?" Jayden grinned. "Let's find out together, Pip."

With his leaf-carved trowel, Jayden dug a small round hole in the soft brown earth. In went the acorn, tucked deep and safe, like a secret wrapped in dirt.
