Lin's Magic Melody

Ages 3–5

When the house grows loud and grumpy at bedtime, Lin discovers that a xylophone, a triangle, and a little patience can weave a lullaby that hushes everyone to sleep.

Children learn that combining simple gentle sounds with patience and rhythm can create calm, and that listening is part of making music.

Upstairs, the baby fussed and wailed. "Too much noise for bedtime," said Lin, tapping her little mallet charm. "I know just the thing to help."

Into the music room Lin scampered, Bongo bouncing at her heels. Shiny instruments waited on shelves. "Let's find a sound that's soft and sweet," she whispered.

First, Lin banged the big drum. BOOM! BOOM! Bongo yelped and dove clean under the rug. "Oops! Too loud for bedtime," Lin giggled, setting the drum down.
