Ages 3–5

Hana frowned at the veggie plate. 'No thank you!' Chef Nonna Mimi tapped her spoon and smiled. "Bow to your bowl, little ruler bold — every feast starts with a treasure to hold!"

Chef Nonna Mimi slid the golden crown onto Hana's head. "Bow to your bowl, little ruler bold!" she sang again. Hana, in her violet cotton tunic with the gold-trimmed collar, green leggings, and brown boots, sat up tall. Adventure had begun!

Chef Nonna Mimi set out a cold bowl of water. "What has skin but never scars, sleeps in dirt but shines like stars?" she asked, winking. Hana, in her violet tunic and green leggings, rolled up her sleeves, ready to find out.
