Malik and the Rainbow Jars

Ages 3–5

When a gray rainstorm washes every color from the park, Malik climbs a hill with a feathered brush and a satchel of little jars to catch the escaping rainbow and paint the world bright again.

A gentle story about color, courage, and using imagination to bring joy back into a dull day.

Rain fell soft on the park one day. The swings turned gray. The grass turned gray. Color ran off in the rain, like paint washing away!

"Oh no!" gasped Malik, spotting a glowing drip on a leaf. "The color's slipping away! I have to catch it before it's gone."

Pip the cloud-bird fluttered down, feathers puffed with worry. "The rainbow slipped right off the sky! Can you catch it, catch it, catch it?"
