Sami and the Singing River Pebble
Ages 3–5
While skipping stones on the dry rocks beside a clear mountain stream, Sami finds a smooth blue pebble that hums a cheerful lullaby every time it touches water — but only if he learns to hold it gently and listen with patience.
Children learn that slowing down, being gentle, and truly listening lets them notice the small, musical sounds nature makes all around them.

Up in the hills where the pine trees sway, Sami and Grandma Nell came out to play. Sun on the water, sun on the stone — this valley of music was theirs to roam.
Flat little stones lay warm in the sun. Sami picked the best one — smooth, round, fun! Grandma Nell patted the little green pouch, "Skip it gentle, and listen — the water always hums back."
Skip, skip, skip! Across the stream they flew. Every stone he threw went plink, plink, plink. "Skip, skip, skip!" Sami laughed with delight, watching the ripples dance in the light.
