Mei and the Winged Pegasus of the Orchard

Ages 3โ€“5

At a mountain-orchard picnic, Mei meets a shy white pegasus and a tumbling griffin cub, and by moving slow, sharing an apple, and teaching patient little flaps, she earns two new sky-friends and a glide over the treetops.

Mei learns that trust with an animal is not grabbed but grown, one patient, gentle moment at a time.

Up in the mountains where apple trees grow, Mei's family spread a blanket below. A distant call echoed, soft and small, from somewhere behind the old orchard wall.

Between the trees, still close to the rest, Mei spotted a flash of white on a crest. A swish of a tail, a glimmer, a gleam โ€” was it a pony? Was it a dream?

There stood Snowdrift, all silvery-white, wings folded softly, ready for flight. She paused at the edge of a sunlit glade โ€” one step too fast, and the moment would fade.
