The Vanished Pet Rabbit of Room 4
Ages 6–8
When Room 4's pet rabbit vanishes from its cage, junior detective Nora follows a trail of nibbled celery, shredded paper, and tiny clues across the classroom to find him safe and sleepy in the last place anyone thought to look.
Children learn that patient, careful observation—and gentle kindness—can solve even the trickiest mysteries.

Monday morning smelled like crayons and fresh paper. Nora skipped to the reading corner to say good morning to Pip the rabbit — but the cage door hung open, swinging gently. "Pip's gone!" Nora gasped. Milo, in his mustard-yellow sweater vest, dropped his pencil. "We need a detective," he said. Nora lifted her magnifying glass. "Good thing you know one."
"Look close. Think slow. That's how detectives go," Nora said, kneeling by the cage. She spotted tiny green flecks scattered on the floor tiles. "Celery bits!" Milo scribbled in his notebook, his glasses sliding down his nose. "Pip loves celery. Maybe he left a trail!" Nora grinned. "Then let's follow it."
The celery trail zigzagged past the art table, past jars that smelled of glue and wet paint. Nora tiptoed carefully, careful not to step on any clues. Milo tiptoed behind her, clutching his notebook to his mustard sweater vest. Then the crumbs stopped — right at the edge of the bookshelf's long shadow.
