Ages 6–8

When giggles greet her mismatched socks and bold vintage sweater, Priya discovers that the bravest armor of all is simply being herself.

Children learn that confidently embracing their own quirks and style can turn teasing into a non-issue, building lasting self-acceptance.

Every morning, Priya picked the loudest socks she owned. Today: one striped like a candy cane, one dotted like a ladybug. Over her pajamas went the giant orange-and-brown sweater that used to be Grandpa's. She pinned on her tin lightning-bolt button. "Perfect," Priya whispered, grinning at the mirror.

At the bus stop, Priya twirled once, showing off her sweater like a cape. "Ready for today?" She asked the button on her chest, tapping it twice for luck. The bus rumbled up, yellow and huge, doors hissing open like a friendly dragon's mouth.

In the crowded hallway, someone snickered. "Nice socks," a boy said, not meaning it kindly. A cluster of kids by the lockers giggled behind their hands. Priya's cheeks went warm, but her chin stayed lifted, high as the hallway lights.
