Yuki and the Calm-Hands Rescue
Ages 6–8
When Grandma Rosa suddenly feels faint and slips in the kitchen, Yuki freezes for one shaky heartbeat — then doesn't panic: she cushions her head, calls for help with a clear voice, and unlocks the door so help can find its way in.
Children learn that even brave helpers feel a flutter of fear first, and that staying calm, speaking clearly, and knowing simple emergency steps can make them a real hero for the people they love.

Saturday mornings smelled like toast and cinnamon. Yuki sat at the wooden table, swinging her feet, the silver whistle bouncing gently on its cord. Grandma Rosa hummed by the stove. Biscuit curled near her slippers. Everything felt ordinary — until it wasn't.
Grandma Rosa suddenly went quiet. "Oh..." she murmured, swaying like a leaf. Before Yuki could blink, she folded gently to the floor. Biscuit barked once. For one shaky second, Yuki froze — feet stuck, breath caught.
Yuki's heart thumped fast — but the frozen feeling melted away. She remembered what Grandma Rosa always said: "Calm hands help best." She took one steady breath and knelt down beside her.
