Leo and Jamie's Sharing Song

Ages 3–5

When Leo and Jamie both reach for the same favorite toy, they learn to sing a special song to share, turning frustration into a game of kindness.

Using a simple, repetitive melody or rhyme can help children regulate their impulses and practice the social skill of turn-taking during play.

Leo, wearing the moss-green cotton jumpsuit, found the rainbow top on the floor. He spun it fast! Jamie reached out, wanting a turn, his eyes wide with excitement.

The toy wobbled and stopped. Leo grabbed it tight. He felt a grumpy feeling in his tummy. It was his turn, and he did not want to share.

Jamie let out a small sob. Leo looked at Jamie, then at the top. He knew that making Jamie sad was not the way to play today.
