Lucas and the Garden of Small Victories
Ages 6–8
When a summer storm topples the sunflowers, Lucas learns that working together with neighbors to replant the garden is the greatest superpower of all.
Children learn that resilience and community teamwork can turn a disappointing setback into an opportunity for growth and connection.

Lucas loved the community garden. Every day, he used his little metal trowel to dig in the soft, dark earth. He watched the sunflowers grow taller than him each morning.
But one afternoon, the sky turned dark and gray. A loud rumble echoed through the air. Lucas felt a drop of rain on his nose. It was time to go home.
The wind howled all night long. When Lucas ran back the next morning, the garden looked very different. The big sunflowers had tipped over in the mud.
