Benjamin and the Birthday Map of Hearts

Ages 3–5

A 5th-birthday story where Benjamin learns that being "big" isn't about doing things alone, but about having a heart big enough to include all of his friends.

A gentle reminder that true growth is found in kindness and teamwork rather than independence.

On the morning Benjamin turned five, a scroll sat on the doormat. It was a map! Benjamin stood tall and told the sun, I will do this all by myself! The map had five stops, and each one held a birthday surprise.

The first stop was the hen house. Clementine the hen stood on the gatepost, fussing over a yellow candle. Benjamin reached up, but the post was very high. He needed a little help.

Clementine clucked that she was too busy to climb down. Benjamin stretched, and with a gentle nudge from behind, he balanced just right to reach the candle. One candle was safely in his bag!
