Rain tapped the window. "Bored, bored, bored," sighed Ваня, poking through the old wardrobe. His fingers found a crack in the back panel-and light spilled through like honey.

"Look!" whispered Женя. The panel swung wide into a door of pure gold light. Ваня grabbed Женя's hand. "Together, always together!" they whispered, and through they went.

They tumbled into the Whistling Hollow-mossy stones, crooked ladders, vines curling every which way. A signpost stood nearby, carved with squiggly shapes neither child understood.
